Bio:
I love helping little people learn to handle big emotions in the most creative way possible. Sometimes children come to therapy even if they aren’t showing obvious symptoms because they have experienced a specific trauma like divorce or the death of a loved one. Other times parents reach out because they’ve noticed changes in their child but aren’t sure why. It is a scary moment for parents who feel like something is wrong but don’t know where to turn. That’s where I come in! Whether we are using play therapy techniques in the office or out in the horse arena, my passion is finding the right tool to facilitate change and get your child on track. Play therapy techniques are usually most effective for children ages 3-10 and equine assisted therapy has proven useful for everyone! Give me a call or send me an email and we can discuss your child's specific needs to see if I'm the right therapist for them. I have my Masters in Social Work from George Mason University and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I am an EAGALA certified equine assisted therapist and am in the process of becoming a Registered Play Therapist through the Association for Play Therapy. I commend you for taking the first step in finding support for your child and I look forward to speaking with your further.
